• Make an inventory of all items, label cartons and keep a list.
• Leave a walkway between boxes and furniture to the back of unit. Put frequently used items near the doorway.
• Do not use newspaper or wrapping containing ink, as it can come off on your items.
• Refrigerators and freezers should be cleaned, dried and stored with the door slightly ajar to prevent mold.

• To retard rust, wipe all metal surfaces with a rag containing a
few drops of machine oil.
• Cover the floor with a plastic tarp.
• Pack books in flat or small boxes. Do not overload book boxes.
• Clothing, curtains and drapes should be stored in wardrobe boxes.
• Plastic containers are recommended for storing bedding and linens.
• Cover or box your items whenever possible.
